Strawberry Hemp Smoothie

Whey is overrated, in my opinion, so I look for Hemp when I'm making my protein smoothies.  Not only is it a complete protein containing amino acids sufficiently, it includes omega-3 and omega-6 in an optimal 3-1 ratio.  There are no fillers and additives to this earth friendly protein alternative, and it contains a good dose of fiber and is easier to digest than soy protein.  There are also suggestions that it reduces inflammation, blood pressure and cholesterol, and it's beneficial to hair, skin and nails.

1 c strawberries
     1 c almond milk
2 T hemp protein powder
1 t vanilla extract
Blend all ingredients until smooth. Add ice if using fresh strawberries.  Top with coconut flakes (optional).
